The idea of death as an imaginal figure is partly responsible for what is produced some of the greatest horrors in history. I think there is a very fundamental denial of death and a resistance to a being towards death that we see not only in Federer's philosophy, but in a lot of acceleration as philosophy. When we talk about our death as an individual, we're dead, boom. However, there's an imaginal dimension to it, which is that this idea of death means our dissolution.
