Are Christians in America Not Exiles in Babylon?
I found the idea and language of exile increasingly to be what the language that I'm using on this podcast and other places. What I find really interesting is you can find Christians talking about themselves like exiles in the 20th century, but it's not a normal way for Christians to speak about their identity as Americans. There has been a history of American leaders viewing America as the new Israel. And when America drifts from our supposed Christian values, Christians often get kind of shocked or whatever. But no exile in literal Babylon, you know, 2500 years ago, would have been like, that's Babylon. We're in exile.
