The Importance of Receiving Holy Communion
In the early church and really up to 1950s, five, exactly, you had to fast from all food and water. If you got up at 2 a.m. and had one sip of water, you could not have the Eucharist. That's the ancient tradition. When did water in medication start happening? I believe in the 1900s. Was medicine kind of accepted? I guess if you're on your deathbed, then you like your own.
