Volunteering Is a Great Way to Help the Depressed
I think that we are hardwired to need to contribute. I definitely know people who had spent like a stretch of time unemployed or something and eventually sort of just came to feel worthless. Then it only gets worse at that point because then they isolated themselves, didn't really care to try at this point. What's the reason to even bother? I'm worthless. And then they don't do the things that would ever make them feel like they had worth. Now, they have a job. Everything about them is different. They're like a completely different person because they're doing something for somebody again. Yeah. Like big brothers, big sisters, go do like a pancake drive or something
