How to Use Pagan Myths to Understand the Bible
Pagan myths can help you see a pattern in scripture that maybe you hadn't noticed before. The Titans are sometimes seen as gods that precede the lineage of Zeus or the gods that are under Zeus but somehow have been pushed in the margins. Prometheus is tied to a rock and every day an eagle comes and eats his liver. And so by engaging in this behavior Prometheus falls into this cycle of passion. Hephaestos is thrown out of paradise because he tries to seduce or rape his mother. We could understand it as the seed of the passions maybe a good way to see itThat's what I'm going to talk about today, bringing up three pagan myths.
