There's been this theory that has become gospel over the years that Giuliani and Trump were not that close in the early years. Well, one of the benefits of writing two books about Giuliani is that the second one had the benefit of his mayoral papers now being available in the archives. And what we found was like a tremendous number of correspondences between Trump and Giuliani and Giuliani's people. They were bros. They saw themselves in each other. If you speak to some people around Trump, they'll tell you that Trump was more influenced by Rudy Giuliani's mayoral tea than by any other politician.
