Rafta and the Peaky Blinders
Rafta realised that he needed to begin a rapid recruitment campaign of young, fit men. They had to be five foot nine and a half, later five foot ten. Due to the peaky blinders were like my great-grandfather, Eric Five Foot Four Five 5. And Rafta asked three things of his recruits: Can you read? Can you write? And can you fight? It was a battle on the streets. Now what Rafta does very quickly, he brings in these new recruits. He's still going to take three or four years,. But by then, he can start sending men out in two, not ones. And these policemen make a massive impact
