The Young Man of the Gang
The book of Psalms also begins with a similar juxtaposition of two parts and warns against bad company. Verses 11 to 14 describe the temptation presented by the gang to the young man gangs appeal to young men's virility their desire for power, camaraderie, honor and wealth. Such men can easily be driven by a hunger for violence itself for the expression of unconstrained power. Evil becomes attractive to such men not merely as a means to some other end but in itself as an experience of lawless power.
