When people were advertising for the role data scientist, I think a lot of the time you would get someone that really did want to just like do research and work on their machine learning or something like that. Five years ago, if you put up a role description for data scientists, you would get about like a thousand applicants who all they wanted to do was to train machine learning models. So expectations versus reality is closer today for the role Data Engineer than it was five years ago.
