Guy bradley was a game warden in Monroe County, Florida. He was shot and killed by captain smith for enforcing the state's plumage trade law. Smith claimed it was self-defence but no charges were ever brought against him. After his death, demand for plume feathers diminished as people became more concerned with their own skin than about birds' lives. His remains were never found after being washed away during a hurricane.
