The First Amusement Park Disaster in Australia
One of Australia's most famous amusement park disasters took place on October 25th, 2016 at the Dream World theme park. The River Rapids ride which first opened in 1986 is a very common ride I feel like among theme parks. It had several circular rafts which held about six people each and flow down a 1,300 foot long man-made river. Its top speed was only about 28 miles per hour and the whole ride only lasted for about four minutes.
