We Need to Be in a Tribe

I think there's a temptation in modern political discourse to decry tribalism I have. But it's naive to think, well, we'll just need to get people to stop feeling that way because it's unhealthy. It's where we get our sense of meaning from hating people who aren't in our tribe. So if we're going to be tribal, we need to think of this nation as our tribe, or we should just stop this crazy experiment.
