The Impact of Institutional Investors on the Housing Market

The number of properties that institutional investors own in the US has grown by 55% from 2016 until 2022. The housing shortage estimated to be between three and five million units with at least one and a half to two million being single family demographics. In order to afford even a down payment, a traditional 20% down payment and closing costs on a median priced house in this country, you need between $80,000 and $100,000.
