For me, self, worth is tied up with how well you feel good a developer. In music, competitive music makes no sense to me. But it's an impulse that i find myself having, and i see other people have. And it's weird. There shouldn't be a i'm better than this person, so i need to demonstrate that i'm better by doing something that makes them look worse. Or it's the double mean hit of being right.
