The idea that there are not inherent differences between groups is just going to be completely unsustainable. Schools are not supposed to be political projects, but that's unfortunately what they become. I suspect there will be a generation that comes along and thinks this is just really naff. Nothing moves universities like the fear of being sued and also league tables. You create a league table for academic freedom and commitment to free speech. Every university will want to be at the top of it. So I do think culturally we can begin to change things. And you might think I'm being naive, but I do genuinely think the fight is not over"
