The Value of Star Trek: The Next Generation
I like the idea that you set it in the essentially present day of Star Trek, allowing you to pull characters from next generation and deep space nine and Voyager. And yet not have to deal with the weight of like, well, we can't really see the Romulans because of TOS,. Like all that prequel stuff. I actually don't like the idea of building a show around a whole bunch of characters who are directly connected to previous Star Trek characters. It would be kind of nice to be able to weave in a, oh, data shows up in this episode. There's more you can do.
