Macron and France - What's in This for France?

I think it's symbolically very important that they're meeting. I don't think there's been a bilateral, big bilateral since 2018. So we're really looking at a kind of reset of Anglo-French relations. France is feeling a bit trapped because Germany seems to be capitalising the most in terms of leadership after Ukraine war. The relationship there is kind of stuck. And so I think it's looking around for friends and the UK historically has,. as Turese says, it's been an enemy, but also a friend.
