The Importance of Notifications for Azure Subscriptions
The way that you as a customer can 100% be informed of when a service is retiring without having to go read a blog is make sure that you have valid, routable email addresses on your admins and co-admins for your Azure subscriptions. So quite often your admin accounts don't have mailboxes associated with them, especially these non-person admin accounts that are associated with a service principle. Do I have to try and do something funky? Could I catch the incoming message with a transport rule and see before it even gets to the mailbox,. Go ahead and redirect it over someplace else and have it land there.
