In primary school, I learn things that I use every day. It feels intuitively to me like, you start out learning the useful stuff and then they kind of run out of that. And so in later years, it just becomes a larger and larger fraction of separating the smarter people from the less smart people. But there is this weird amnesia slash Stockholm syndrome that people seem to get where as long as it's far enough back in time, then they fill in like useful stuff every minute of every day.
