Homily based primarily on our Old Testament reading from Genesis 32. From the beginning, even before he was born, Jacob's life was a life of struggle. While still in the womb, he fought with his older brother Esau and his young men. Following his mother's instructions, Jacob obtained the blessing God promised by disguising himself as Esau and bringing his father some food.
