Foucault says that modern societies dedicated themselves to speaking of sex as the secret giving it even more kind of explosive potential. The sexuality of children mad men and women and criminals came under scrutiny in 18th and 19th centuries. If regular sexuality happened to be questioned once again it was through a reflex movement originating in these peripheral sexualities, argues Foucault.
