Sidney Poitier - The Titanic Influence

Sidney poitier was born in the bahamas, raised on an island with no running water and a kitchen that was effectively a hundred yards away from his home. He moved to miami when he was about 15 years old, and began to learn how to read and speak english more clearly. Poitier often played these dignified, intelligent, anda powerful rejections of bigotry in our country for a long time. And i think he, in some ways got stuck being an avatar for that idea for a little while,. until he basically grabbed his career for himself and started pursuing more romantic leading rolls.
