Western companies are struggling to exit their operations in russia. Burger king doesn't quite own or operate its restaurants in Russia. It runs the 800 stores through a relationship it forged with russian business men. Subway, Petsar chan papa johns also has a primary franchise partner who is an American. Macdonalds probably had the easiest exit of them all as they own 84% of their stores.
