I think a lot of liberals and leftists have a basic understanding that US labor law is broken this has become a kind of mantra, repeated by people who talk about the labor movement. Your story paints a very vivid picture of exactly how labor law and its brokenness impacts the lives of union organizers and activists. Can you talk about how the state of American labor law impacted your organizing? The National Labor Relations Act was passed in 1935 it's an old law. And over time it has suffered a kind of death by 1000 cuts. So the state of labor law in this country is really disastrous for workers.
Featuring Daisy Pitkin on her book On the Line: A Story of Class, Solidarity, and Two Women's Epic Fight to Build a Union, a memoir that powerfully captures the drama of an organizing drive—and so much more.
