Is There So Many Words for Understanding?

You can say Tim-Bou Dong, but you can also say Ting-Bou Ming-bye. There isn't a why as to why there's so many options for it,. But I think we were sort of saying to them that sometimes... It's just the way it is. Can you think of any examples where Ming-bye is used more than Dong?
