Rats Can Drive
Researchers built a tiny car. Like a clear plastic food container. There are copper bars at the front and the the rat would stand on a metal bar. So when it touched the compards, it was completing a circuit. It could push it forward or to either side by touching the side of the vehicle. They were trained to drive them by they put a treat further out of its reach and it could only get to it by driving the car towards it. And then they learned to drive. One of the researchers in the study, Kelly Lambert said they learned to navigate the car in unique ways and engage in steering patterns they had never used until eventually arriving at the reward.
