The Mark of the Beast

In revelation 13, john tells his first century readers that if they had wisdom, they could and should calculate the number of the beast. That means the beast existed and was well known in the first century, so his number could be calculated. As we saw, multiple lines of evidence indicate that the number six, six, six represented the roman emperor nero and other roman emperors connected with him to some extent. It's possible that there will be a second fulfilment of the mark of the beast in our future. If so, it may mean exactly the same thing it did the first time around - merely a willingness to worship a major political leader who a future equivalent of nero
