The Mycenaean Pantheon

It is generally assumed that the Mycenians had no temples or cult statues. However, linear B records indicate there must have been a variety of sanctuaries dedicated to various deities with priests and priestesses responsible for specific shrines. Priests were prominent figures in Mycenaean society; role of women in religious festivities was also important. The manufacturing and commercial operations of the MyCenaeans had a surprising degree of size, complexity, and specialization.
