Sudama christina gives a beautiful example. He lived on the bank of the ganges, the gunga river and yould see these little boat plying. But until it catches the current, he has to work hard to push the boat into it. So how the current of spiritual life means when it becomes natural to us,. When you when the mind is now set in the new pattern, then you don't have to work so hard all the time. That is raga. Both are meant likes and dislikes. They color the mind, any kind of strong pull towards the world. I was amazed to read frid rewise old ast but htis pretty wise.
The mind is very restless, turbulent, strong and obstinate, O Krishna. It appears to me that it is more difficult to control than the wind" - Bhagavad Gita (6.34)
"Lord Krishna said: O mighty-armed son of Kunti, what you say is correct; the mind is indeed very difficult to restrain. But by practice and detachment, it can be controlled" - Bhagavad Gita (6.35)
Inspired by these verses, Swami Sarvapriyananda provides invaluable guidance on improving our meditation.
