How Do You See the Open Source Eco System Transitioning?

As an academic, you shouldn't have customers, but you sort o do, because people want to use this library. And so i'm essentially using the open source users and the contributors as a source of research problems. So with my research hat on, this is great, because i have essentially here right in front of me a gold mine of interesting research s to work on. I just take like the top issue that people are complaining about on get up, have a think about how we might solve that.
