Self supervised pre training is actually better than training with labels, because it's more robust to the long tail. We thought that when you do self supervise learning, you learn more from the tale. But what wee found out is that it's not true. It actually learns better, more divers and more journalizable features from the mode. And we have like very cold, semi synthetic experiments in the paper, a bit hard to explain, but an look at it.
