The old code is still there in your back end. or the newest version of your app is accessing already the new columns but people might not have updated so they're still running the old version. Only when you're sure that this old column is not being accessed anymore that's when you would wrap up the migration basically and actually delete that column it's called the expand and contract pattern. You can also use Prisma client to query the data inside of your database with a generated command.
