John Ronson: It was depressing to see the bars and restaurants of Brooklyn full up until last Friday night. Part of government policy here about not self-isolating just yet or waiting until the latest stages, all based on assumption that there's something intrinsic to the British character. He says he doesn't know where his wife is right now but thinks she'll be okay.
