Theodosius' Edict to Rome
In the summer of 391, Theodosius decided that perhaps it was time for him to be leaving Milan. In Egypt, a fanatical bishop named Theophilus seized on the edict as an opportunity to destroy the five-century old Seropium of Alexandria. Less than a year after heading back to Constantinople, Valentinian II will be dead,. Arbogost will be in revolt, and Theodosio will once again find himself marching west to fight a civil war.
