Madera and Orozco

The selection of new members of the cabinet for the interim government was an early bone of contention that showed Madera very quickly retreating into respectable politics. On one side, there were the victorious rebels, radical democrats and reformers who now expected the spoils of war to be doled out. And on the other side,there were a lot of conservatives and government functionaries who wanted to salvage their own positions as much as possible. Both sides are going to be dissatisfied with Madera, who tried to please them both, and so as so often happens, pleased neither.
