The Festival of Light Is the Brain Child of a Baptist Missionary
The festival of light is the brain child of baptist missionary peter hill. He and his supporters were reacting against what they saw as a shift away from traditional christian values. In the 19 sixties, britan had passed laws which legalized abortion and de criminalized sex between gay men. This together with an increase in people having sex before marriage, and laws which made divorce easier, inspired tens of thousands of people to join the festival of light.
