The Politics of Futility
So much of our politics today is imbued with this myth, and this is what I mean by the politics of futility. The idea that we can change the world through simply just aggregating our individual choices will soon become mythical. We need to think about ourselves like Coca-Cola does, or any other kind of big brand, as marketers of a self. Every decision we make in our life is an investment in our future capital. As humans in order for language to be turned into meaning, it requires digestion which needs both a listener and time. And thus there's a crisis at the moment where the acceleration of the production of language in digital communication is in conflict with the deceleration
