How to Measure the pH of Your Soil

The pH affects how many nutrients the plant can absorb. Some plants have evolved to deal with more alkaline conditions. If you find your garden has acidic soil, then we call that ericaceous. You want to be looking at species like lilac, lavender and lily of the valley. The pH isn't a beel and endle, but it can be a useful guide.
