Sin Lake Unini's Epic of Gilgamesh

There are different versions of the epic separated by many hundreds if not thousands of years and how the text recently came to be pieced together as a fascinating tale. The standard Babylonian version which is considered sort of the canonical version begins with a prologue where we learn about Gilgamesh, the eponymous hero of the epic. Andrew tells us how he was introduced to his friend Ankedu who is Gilgamesh's kind of hairy wild man friend. He also explains how the gods created Arru the mother goddess - she takes a ball of clay, pulls it up, throws it into the wilderness and creates Ankedu.
