The process of induced pluripotency is conducted in the laboratory. You're taking a differentiated cell, and you're giving it these oncogenes to set its epigenome back. So what predicts how that cell will behave or react? It's on a epigenetic landscape where anything can happen. And at a great expense, with time, and with skill, and with elimination of these poorly behaving cells, you can isolate induced pluripotent stem cells.
