Solomon's Paradoxes and a Symmetry in Decision Making

It's a lot easier to give wise advice to a friend than follow it yourself. The phenomenon is called solomon's paradox after king solomon, the wealthy and wise monarch of israel. He was known for making excellent decisions for his people but notoriously made terrible decisions in his personal life. For most people in that situation, emotions and feelings of potential danger would stop us from acting. But without that gut feeling, my mum wasn't afraid of intervening. Maybe it helped her to do what was right, or maybe she put herself at unnecessary risk. Either way, i think she'ld agree she's a good example of how our gut feelings can really come in handy.
