If I Contribute Today, You Return the Favor Down the Road

If I contribute today, you return the favor down the road. If I give you food today, you give me food tomorrow. If I keep you safe today, you keep me safe next week. That is fair. And that is trust. But it works out until someone decides to test the boundaries and to push the limits of fairness. Those who break this unwritten and sometimes even written code of fairness must be shunned or worse.
