After Edinburgh, he went to Oxford and was a lecturer at Evolution of Biology. He then moved to Penn State in the U.S., where he worked on viruses for about seven years. And after eight or nine more years there, he came back to Australia with his son. Why do you move around so much? "I like a challenge every now and again," he says.
