Are Standards Boring?
The idea of creating standards, if it's on a tropical island somewhere, like I'm into this. The end result doesn't maybe reflect all the fun that went into it. And there was this famous quote by Andrew Tannenbaum some years ago that the nice thing about standards is you have so many to choose from. It reflects a couple of aspects of the world we have to work in. One is technology is always advancing and changing. And so we have to adapt and standards have to adapt with time.
