How to Calculate Your Savings Rate
You needn't calculate your current savings rate. If you're in a workplace pensionin soko, that's sorted. But i might want to apportion some of my net pay savings to another pension. I would exclude short term stuff as well. So saving for short term things like birthdays, christmas and holidays should come under the discretionary area of our budget. And so don't include short term savings in your savings rate. Theend of that just as long term stuff. 50 % is the stuff that doesn't move, so mortgage slash, rent, council tax, utility s, food, that sort of stuff. Discretionary is gifts, holidays, christ Christmas and stuff
