There are other psychological and emotional reasons that influence our spending habits. I find social media to be the fast food of social connection. In-person connection is where you're really going to get the nutritional value you need. Meditation, exercise, spending time with loved ones, or pursuing activities that align with our values and interests can all be helpful in managing boredom.
