Hatshepsut - The Queen of the Middle Kingdom

Hachepsut ruled egypt for 21 years, building massive monuments and presiding over a stable, well ordered state. At first she ruled as regent on behalf of her under aged nephew, tutmosa the third. Later, however, she acted as pharaoh in her own right, with all the regalia, titles and above all, power associated with the office.
