The Difference Between My Running Economy and Caroline's

Rhona Pierce is the physiology lead at Loughborough University. She fitted Caroline with a mask, which would measure how much oxygen she was breathing in and then got on her treadmill. Rhona uses the amount of oxygen I'm breathing at these speeds to calculate my running economy. Running economy is defined as the energy demand for a given speed of running. The lower your running economy, the less energy you need to run a certain speed - making you more efficient.
