Retail - The Biggest Asset Class of 2018?
Grocery anchored retail scored its second consecutive record year in 22 with 14.7 billion in total transaction volume, which is an increase of nearly 16% over 21. Whole foods anchor shopping centers had the most aggressive pricing, typically transacting at about a 4.9%. However, it looks like fourth quarter 22 foot traffic for whole foods decreased about 8% and you know, kind of having that higher price consumer when times are good, maybe there's some downward pressure when time start to inflation kicks in and markets those down.
