I was very lucky. My father was a photographer and hadn't had a chance to go to art school, so I fell into industrial design. After a couple of degrees doing that, I graduated as an industrial designer and that's what I wanted to do. So many industrial designers that I know either played with Lego or what we call mccano and you call it something different in America. As kids and learn how to really explore things by building them, which is one of the core ideas of design: learning by making. And that's what Lego did for me.
